Rain again beats Lions and Dolphins
The bizhub Highveld Lions suffered at the hands of the weather in Durban on Wednesday when their Ram Slam T20 Challenge encounter against the Hollywoodbets Dolphins was abandoned due to rain at Sahara Stadium Kingsmead.
Heavy showers over the past 24 hours had left the outfield drenched and it was a matter of formality when umpires Bongani Jele and Thomas Mokorosi got together with the two captains at the scheduled 6pm start to confirm the decision. It meant that none of the hosts’ matches in KwaZulu-Natal were completed this season.
The bizhub Highveld Lions are left with 14 points, the same number as the Dolphins with two matches for the bizhub Highveld Lions to come on Friday and Sunday.
Defending champions, the Titans are the runaway leaders and have already secured a home semi-final, with all the other five sides still in contention.
